Mina Yakubu ’21 receives 2020 Truman Scholarship
Mina Yakubu ’21 has received the 2020 Truman Scholarship, a graduate fellowship program that supports those pursuing careers in public service.
The $30,000 scholarship by The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation will allow Mina to attend law school following her graduation from Carolina, where she plans to focus on immigration reform.
After completing a law degree, Mina will seek to work with an international organization that advances migration and human rights for African populations.
Mina is a double major in political science and African studies, with a minor in social and economic justice. She is also a Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) scholar and a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College scholar.
