Professional Experience Spotlight: Making the operating room safer through tech, with Kabir Dewan ’25
For his Professional Experience summer, Kabir Dewan ’25 is working as a product development engineering intern with TrackX Tech. The company provides live augmented-reality-based surgical navigation to reduce radiation for patients in operating rooms.
The scholar said he’s been able to contribute to the design process of products at the Hillsborough, North Carolina-based company.
“I’ve really enjoyed getting to see my ideas implemented to help keep medical personnel and patients safer during fluoroscopic surgical procedures,” Kabir said.
In the Professional Experience summer, scholars take part in an approved internship or pursue a startup idea of their own. They learn invaluable professional skills that will serve them well in their careers—whether it be in private business, nonprofit, or self-directed entrepreneurship.
