Olivia earned a BSPH with highest distinction and honors in health policy and management. At Carolina, she directed the Get Covered Carolina program of Student Health Action Coalition, coordinated community engagement at Community Empowerment Fund, and volunteered as a certified application counselor. They also facilitated support groups for survivors of sexual violence, fostered rescue dogs, and crafted with community groups. On her gap year, Olivia supported the formation of a health practice at a small consulting firm created by Secretary Madeleine Albright. They supported pregnant and birthing people as a full-spectrum birth worker through Emerald Doulas, LLC, and UNC Hospitals. Academically, she conducted independent research in the Health Policy and Management Department on prescription contraceptive access. On campus and abroad, Olivia enjoyed mountain biking, kayaking, and backpacking.
Immediate Plans
To work as a public health advisor/PHAP Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control & National Indian Health Board, with focus on Indigenous reproductive health; full-spectrum doula; pursuing interests in full-scope midwifery.
